Early Life:
When Rhea was born, the midwife had informed Queen Maerith that the child had been stillborn, so Karza's agents could remove the infant from the palace without suspicion. Two days later, Baron Karza arranged for Rhea to be adopted by Mehmet and Semra Adiri. Mehmet is a prominent merchant in Helmfirth, which is where Rhea was raised as a child. She displayed high athletic prowess and an uncanny ability to understand people. While in Helmfirth, she was an active child, and always getting into mischief. She loved watching the acrobats and magic users display their feats of prestidigitation in the public square and at the market, and aspired to become a wizard so she could bring honor to her family.
The Regal Wizard Academy:
When she was twelve, Rhea traveled to Morgansfort to apply to The Regal Wizard Academy, the most prestigious institution in Kethira. During her one year at the school, she befriended Elly Hallow, a grand-niece of Queen Arielle Hallow, second wife of King Kesidon. The two struck up a friendship which has lasted even after Rhea was dismissed from the Academy. Officially, Rhea was dismissed for violating the academy's integrity policy. In reality, the Academy refused to graduate the illegitimate daughter of the Queen of Kethira. Rhea was devastated, and upon her departure from the Academy at only thirteen, she became a street urchin and developed a talent for pickpocketing.
She Finds Her Destiny:
When Rhea was fourteen, she decided to rob Baron Karza, not having any idea that the Baron was her actual father. The Baron caught her, and instead of scolding her, he talked to her, because he had a feeling there was something special about her. It didn't take the Baron long to discover that this streetwise young woman was his daughter, and placed her in the custody of The Serpent's Guild, a renowned guild for aspiring thieves. The Baron also took the time to explain Rhea's true origin to her, and told her if she needed anything, she could contact him. Rhea found her purpose in the Serpent's Guild, and remained there until she was eighteen. By the time she departed, she was a formidable thief and a capable assassin.
She Finds Her True Family (Sort of):
After her time at the Serpent's Guild, she joins a party of adventurers led by the charismatic fighter Fleetwood Vale, and she and Fleetwood become romantically involved. Fleetwood and Rhea would adventure together for the next five years as the part of the group, The Hounds of Freedom. A year ago, Fleetwood died during a quest to retrieve a scroll from the Land of Null, and Rhea barely survived. After recovering at home in Helmfirth, she is found by her half-sisters, Elara and Pernumbra, and asked to find the location of a renowned criminal named Acroyear. Rhea successfully finds the location of Acroyear, and gives this information to Elara, but declines to join her on the expedition to his cliffside lair to bring him to justice, because she is still grieving the death of her beloved Fleetwood. She decides to remain in Helmfirth, which is how she meets Elly again, and joins her adventuring party.
